Sumario:There were giants on the earth in ancient times. Denver Michaels runs down the many stories of giants around the world and testifies to the reality of their existence in the past. Michaels discusses the races of giants named in the Bible and also examines extra-biblical sources such as the Book of Enoch, the Book of Giants, the Book of Moses and the Ethiopian sacred text of the Kebra Nagast. He then takes off on a trip around the world, visiting the stories of Mesoamerica and South America, and the firsthand accounts of conquistadors' encounters with giants. He looks at tales from the South Pacific, including ones from New Zealand, Easter Island and Hawaii. He explores the Indian subcontinent's traditions, including the fantastic Golden Age statures attained by the Jains. He looks at the legends of Europe, starting with the Titans and Olympians of Greece, and including the legends of the Hyperboreans who were said to come from the North. He visits the rich giant lore of the English, Irish and Norse. When it comes to ancient North America, Michaels says we've got it all wrong, and explores an alternative history for the continent. He tells numerous native legends of giants from the east coast to the west.
