Descripción
Sumario:The Latest Early American Literature both negatively critiques how the latest scholarly receptions of early American literature differ insignificantly from the earliest ones and positively proposes how a transnationalist concession-that America's neocolonial culture lags behind that of Europe-might advance postmodern theorizing. Closer to earth, it is mindful that saving early American texts requires teaching them to nonspecialist, never-to-become-specialist undergraduates, and to facilitate this it concludes with what will likely seem its most radical intervention: redefining Edgar Allan Poe.
