Sumario: | This volume is part of a line of reflection that, in its general appearance, must be traced back to the wide debate, national and international, on the themes connected to the transformations of the identity of the library and of the public library in particular, according to a perspective that is also that of the "long duration", taking into consideration issues that have to do with the spatial dimension of this problematic identity, or that in any case derive their origin from the concept of space, in its undefined theoretical, aesthetic, metaphorical dimension. Additional themes are linked to this central axis of the book, from the discussion of the evolution in the 'social' sense of library science to the historical-architectural reflection on the concept of 'canon', from the hypothesis of 'enriching' the perceptive space of the library to the theme, of great interest in the selection, collection and analysis of digital data. Data that, as traces, make information available on actions and activities related to the way people "read" the shape of the library environment and its complex informational ecosystem.
