Sumario:Although Open Access, ie the free and free availability of internet content, is now a known initiative, there are still very confusing ideas and misinterpretations about some of its features and how it works. In this work, Ernest Abadal aims to clarify the most frequent doubts and misunderstandings regarding Open Access, presenting the theoretical basis of this system, the role of scientific journals and the aptitude of researchers, as well as an estimate of which are the future prospects. This guide addresses both academics and university managers, as well as publishers and librarians. The Italian edition was produced in collaboration with Maria Teresa Miconi, professor of Bibliography and Library Science at the University of Macerata and recognized Open Access expert. The preface is by Giovanni Solimine, professor of Library Science at the University of Rome La Sapienza, where he is also president of the University Library System and director of the School of Specialization in Archival and Book Assets.
