The 147 pictures of the chronicle are great source of information on medieval cultural history, costume, and court life in the fourteenth century. The artistic value of the miniatures is quite high, the characters are drawn with detail and with knowledge of anatomy. 42 of the miniatures are inserted into the text of the volume.
