Sumario:This volume opens a timely discussion about the various theoretical and methodological models being developed to describe the phenomenon of language contact. It focuses mainly on contact resulting from situations of mobility and borders, particularly in Brazil, which offers an example of complex contacts between peoples and languages. The book focuses on the social effects of language contact, resulting from mobility, linguistic and social practices, and representations and identities in continuous construction. Migration movements, both to and from the country, are the cause of multiple forms.
