Sumario: | Family Futures was published by Tudor Rose in cooperation with DESA-DSPD for the 20th Anniversary of the International Year of the Family (IYF) in 2014. The IYF has offered an opportunity to refocus on the role of families in development; take stock of recent trends in family policy development; share good practices in family policy making; review challenges faced by families worldwide and recommend solutions. By cataloguing the experiences and livelihoods of people, especially those in vulnerable situations, Family Futures was created to project the benefits of focusing on the family unit in overall development efforts. It also emphasises how family-oriented policies and programmes can contribute to achieving sustainable development goals. The public-private partnership between Tudor Rose and DESA-DSPD is a striking example of sharing resources to engage governments, international and civil society organisations, academics and other shareholders in pooling their efforts to make the world a better place.
