Sumario:This special collection provided an outlet for researchers to present the newest advances, scientific findings and technological developments in the field of eco-materials processing and design. The object to survey the current state-of-the-art and to foresee future trends in the field of eco-materials processing and design for energy, environment and related materials. Many fruitful and exciting research achievements were presented, both as fundamental topics and as applications such as solar sustainable energy, fuel-cells, photochemistry, porous materials, biomass, and bio-inspired technologies for improving microstructures and bulk properties. Review from Book News Inc.: The more than 150 selected papers in this publication originally were presented at the 12th International Symposium on Eco-Materials Processing and Design held in January 2011 in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Topic headings include: materials for environment preservation, energy conservation, and new energy; materials processing for reduction of environmental impact; eco-materials processing and design; high performance materials including nano-materials for the environment; hybrid materials and composites; dye-sensitized solar cells, and porous materials. Editors are Kim (Inha U., Korea), Yang (Xi-an Jiaotong U., China), Lee and Han, Sun Moon U., Korea), and Thongtem (Chiang Mai U., Thailand).
