Sumario:This qualitative investigation examines the experiences of eight mothers or female guardians of hearing-impaired children with their children's deaf education programs. All the research participants were members of linguistic or cultural minority groups living in the greater New York Metropolitan area. The analysis of the data revealed the intense responsibility that rests on these women for the education of their hearing-impaired children.
