Descripción
Sumario:Roberto Rossellini died June 3, 1977, at the age of 71, occurring while he was still very active. He had devoted the last 15 years of his life to the elaboration of an encyclopaedic project which could be described as the history of human thought from the dawn of humanity to the present day. Depicted in stages according to the criteria of Comenius (a Moravian pedagogue who lived between the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries) with the audiovisual medium. This was the last battle of a director whose films draw substance from the struggle of man for the conquest of freedom. But, man cannot really be said to be free if, after struggling against those who try to restrict his freedom from outside, he does not address the weapons he possesses within himself, to succeed in overcoming his own selfishness. Hence the importance accorded to religion, which is present in all of Rossellini’s filmography.
