Sumario:This course introduces students to the wide world of Linux. It is intended for people who know computers but have little to no experience with Linux. This course doesn’t make assumptions that the student’s Linux experience will be on servers, on the desktop, or on embedded systems, and provides information applicable to all 3 scenarios. Often, when people come from, primarily, a Windows experience, they expect things to work automatically, for example on Windows people just add a disk and it shows up without any other intervention. However on Linux, especially on servers and embedded systems, things need to be configured by the operator - so the operator can have more control over what gets set up. This course introduces not only the basic operation of a Linux system, but also some of the basic settings for accessing new drives, setting up startup applications, and installing new software on a Linux system.
