Sumario: | Rebecca is an 18-year-old patient at a hospital, diagnosed with diabetes type I. Rebecca was sent to the psych after it was suspected that she was tampering lines when admitted to the medical unit, an accusation Rebecca adamantly and angrily denies. Rebecca asserts that she is a very sick person and cannot go home or answer the interviewers' questions because she needs rest. Rebecca recently became dependent on hemodialysis and tends to require high doses of opioids to manage “pain”. In the past, Rebecca had multiple admissions to various hospitals. This is Rebecca’s third admission to this hospital is the last two months to treat an infection in the blood. Rebecca describes enjoying her time in the hospital but that she does not like being home, where she is forced to do chores and her mother is usually at work. Rebecca rarely sees her father, who has a different family. It was after Rebecca’s father left, when she was 13 years old, that Rebecca became very sick and needed to be admitted to the hospital and was diagnosed with Type I diabetes. After going home, her mother said that she would purposefully eat sweets and not take her meds so she could go back to the hospital. Rebecca angrily denies all of these statements by her mother as lies and continues to insist that she is "a very sick person".
