| Sumario: | It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the Fourth ACM International Conference on Systems for Energy-Efficient Built Environments (BuildSys '17), in Delft, The Netherlands. Over the past eight years, BuildSys has been an interdisciplinary conference that brings together various stakeholders including researchers, practitioners, and policymakers from different disciplines including civil engineering, mechanical engineering, environmental science, electrical and computer engineering, system management and control, and many others. This year is no exception, with papers and attendees from all these areas. The focus of the conference is continuing to extend beyond building systems to the built environment more generally. This year's program includes sessions dedicated to the smart grid and to smart cities and communities.
