Sumario:The book presents an approach on how the knowledge inherent to medicine and the hospital in the Modern Society was constructed. It shows, historically, how power and medical-hospital practices were established. The work presents the discourse of the dominant institutions on the care model, as well as reveals the pragmatic reality of effective access to the social right to health, which, formally, was expressed as a basic need translated into social minimums, as a legitimate condition of the person's dignity. human. The relevance of this study is due to its special significance in the different areas of Human and Social Sciences, by nurturing the debate on the subject of the Right to Health in the instances of Public Power, as well as by introducing it on the agenda of professions related to the health field, deepening its dimensions of transdisciplinarity and transversality.
