Sumario:Polymer testing is performed to identify and characterize with the aim of ensuring that the product remains suitable for its intended end use over an entire production run and that, therefore, the manufacturing process is under control. Testing by chemical methods serves to detect variations in raw materials. Chemical methods of polymer testing are often used for quality control of the polymer and the additives. There are more common procedures available to serve as simple tests in the laboratory for identification and characterization of even unknown samples of polymers and additives. The methods are based more on experimentation than on measurement and are cost effective.
