Sumario:The importance of American law in today's world cannot be overstated. The problem is not that there are not enough American lawyers; rather, law is so vital to so much that is done that, like war which is too important to be left to the generals, law is too important to be left to lawyers. A comprehensive introduction to all the main aspects of the American legal system, this book supplies the fundamentals of American law to a number of audiences, including business people, government officials, and others whose work regularly involves legal issues and who want to understand the law (and lawyers) better than they do now; and general readers, from students to senior citizens, who recognize that an appreciation of our legal system is an important part of being an educated person. It provides both the basic rules of American law and the reasons why it has come to exist in its present form. Each chapter of Fundamentals of American Law was written specially for the book by an acknowledg expert in that area. Sponsored by the New York University Law School, from which all the contributors are gathered, the book is the one volume any American will want to have on hand to gain an understanding of our legal system.
