Descripción
Sumario:During archaeological excavations conducted in Daštadem by the French archaeological mission of Ani-Pemza, interest was shown in the sponsor of an inscription, Ałbułay, who lived in this area at the turn of the fourteenth century. The present article focuses on identifying, transcribing and translating the inscriptions in which he appears, either as a sponsor or more incidentally. A total of eight inscriptions is studied in the article, from various places, Daštadem, P’arpi or Aštarak. They shed light, albeit imperfectly, on the life and actions of a prince whose power under the Mongols was relatively modest and who is, moreover, never mentioned in the chronicles of the period.
