Sumario: | Papers presented in the monograph respond to the situation that has arisen in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic and its consequences relating both to the presence of information technology in all areas of social life and the pervasiveness of its use. Therefore, the publication aims to illustrate the complexity and dynamics of the ongoing virtualization processes of social life and their impact on the functioning of people with disabilities, also considering recent events related to the global epidemic. Individual chapters in the book focus on, among other things: how people with disabilities use the Internet, online education and digital competencies for people with disabilities, virtual civic participation, and social and political activism by people with disabilities. Significant emphasis was also placed on the application dimension of the texts prepared. The publication combines both the features of a scientific paper, based on the individual authors' research, and conclusions in the form of recommendations.
