Sumario:Since the 1960s, the rise of certain countries, particularly in Asia, has helped to mask the weak development of Latin America, and even the backwardness of other countries, such as sub-Saharan Africa. Today, over a billion people around the world still live in poverty. Political actors currently favour the implementation of interventions at the level of the poor populations rather than adapted macroeconomic and structural policies.
